Course Description:

This course prepares students to work in the landscaping field. Students will learn safety procedures and will learn the proper way to mow, trim, hedge trimming, and blowing. Students will have the chance to participate in an internship and be connected with organizations offering additional green and environmental training.

Note: Participants must complete Workforce Essentials before enrolling in Amos House Landscaping

Four sessions to choose from:

Session 1:
3/9/23–4/14/23

Session 2:
5/8/23–6/16/23

Session 3:
7/1/23–8/18/23

Session 4:
9/11/23–10/20/23

You will learn:

  • Safety procedures
  • Proper way to care for lawns and landscaping
  • Operate mowers, trimmers and blowers

As a SNAP E&T participant you will get:

  • An assessment of your skills and employment goals
  • One-on-one time with a case manager
  • Help planning your job and career goals and completing an employment plan
  • Riptiks and/or gas cards if you don’t have transportation to make sure you can get to class
